I started customising Hot Wheels because they weren’t making the cars I wanted to see. I wanted to create something unique that didn’t exist in the official line-up. It’s a fun challenge, and I find it a relaxing hobby that lets me unleash my creativity.
Right now, I’m working on a few exciting projects, including Frankenstein’s Corvette from Death Race 2000, Sweet Tooth’s Ice Cream Truck from Twisted Metal, the car from THX 1138, and Batman’s first Batmobile from the comic Batman: Overdrive. Each project has its own challenges, but that’s part of the fun.
How did you get into customising?
Tell us more about this build.
For this build, I decided to transform Barbie’s Corvette movie car into an off-road killing machine. My inspiration came from all the post-apocalyptic vehicles I saw at Wasteland Weekend. It wasn’t the most difficult custom I’ve done, but it was definitely one of the most fun.
I used a spare chassis I had lying around, added some parts from a WW2 model kit, and scavenged a few other pieces I had on hand. The final product is a rough, rugged version of the Corvette, designed to survive in a world gone mad!
