We’re Tony and Carmen, and we run Diecast Heroes as a small, independent magazine.

Your privacy matters to us — especially because most of the people who write to us and take part in the magazine do so personally and creatively.

This page explains, in plain language, what happens to your information when you use the Diecast Heroes website.

Who is responsible for your data

Diecast Heroes is an independent magazine published by Matthews Creative, UK.

For data protection purposes, Matthews Creative is the data controller for this website and for the Diecast Heroes publication.

In practice, this means we are responsible for how your personal information is used in connection with the magazine.

The kind of information we collect

We only collect information that is needed to run the magazine and the website.

This may include:

  • your name and email address (if you contact us or join our newsletter)

  • your postal address (if you order a printed magazine)

  • basic technical information when you browse the site (such as your browser type, IP address and cookies)

We do not collect information we do not need.

When you contact us

If you write to us using a form on the site or by email, we receive the information you choose to share with us.

We use this only to reply to you and to continue the conversation you started.

When you order a magazine

Printed copies of Diecast Heroes are produced and delivered for us by our print partner, Bookvault.

To make this possible, only the information needed to print and deliver your order (such as your name and delivery address) is shared securely with Bookvault.

Bookvault acts on our instructions and is required to protect your information in line with UK data protection law.

If there is ever a problem with a printed order, you contact us — and we will take care of it with our printer on your behalf.

Payments

We do not receive or store your card or payment details.

Payments are handled securely by our payment and sales providers:

  • PayPal

  • Stripe

  • Payhip

These providers process your payment information under their own privacy policies and act as separate data controllers for payment data.

Website usage and cookies

Like most websites, we use basic cookies and technical tools so the site works properly and so we can understand, in general terms, how people use it.

This information is used only to help us run and improve the site. It is not used to identify you personally.

Why we use your information

We use your information only to:

  • run the Diecast Heroes website

  • reply to messages you send us

  • send our newsletter if you choose to join it

  • process magazine orders and deliveries

  • meet our legal and accounting obligations

We do not sell your personal information and we do not use it for advertising profiling.

How long we keep your information

We only keep personal information for as long as it is needed to:

  • communicate with you,

  • fulfil an order,

  • or meet legal requirements.

When it is no longer needed, it is deleted or securely anonymised.

Your rights under UK GDPR

If you are in the UK or the European Economic Area, you have the right to:
